Details about the upcoming Dual Core CPU (SmithField) from Intel, the core is based on 90nm. The NetBurst cores have each 1MB L2 cache and in total 2MB of cache, the front side bus speed is at 800MHz. This CPU will also support Extended Memory 64 Technology, this technology allows the Dual Core CPU to use a larger amount of memory. You can also turn on or off Hyper-Threading.
The SmithField does also support the Execute Disable Bit Functionality, this means it uses the CPUID instruction to protect your machine against malicious software executing code. This feature can be compared with the AMD No-eXecute feature. This ofcourse includes the Physical Address Extension functionality.
