Quick scan is off by default, and the app is fast, but it might be handy for slow systems. During our tests, we kept getting an error accessing the WindowsTemp folder, a pretty popular place for malware to hide files.The settings tab gives you just a few settings including running at startup, show message dialog after progress, and automatically check for updates. Only run at startup is off by default.Once the scan is complete, Hidden Fixer will open the scanned folder so you can see if any missing files were recovered. Missing is any sort of log file or results window, so hopefully, you know what you're looking for.Hidden fixer also includes Hidden Maker, which will allow you to hide your files and folders.How well does it work? We don't know without getting infected by the right virus and seeing what it recovers. We love our job and our readers, but we have our limits. That said, it's pretty well ranked on the internet, and we think techs will want this in their toolbox.
