The technology press has been filled lately with increasingly feverish rumors and even photos of a possible Google-built mobile phone. Separate statements by two Google executives, however, suggest that the search giant has no plans to become a phone manufacturer.
According to The Australian Financial Review, Richard Kimber, Google's South-East Asia managing director of sales and operations, told attendees at the Search Engine Room conference in Sydney that the company is currently focused on mobile applications and not hardware.
