Today, we’ll be taking a look at the Gigabyte P550B Power Supply. Powers supplies come in so many different wattages and choosing the right one for your setup can be an important step in building a new system or upgrading. This step is important because if you have a 1000 watt power supply but only need 550 watts you have basically spent money on wattage that will never get used. There are many power supply calculators out there to help figure out what size of power supply you need. This is one area I fail and always get more than what I need. This can be unnecessary overkill and that money could be pout into better RAM or other components. So if you want my advice and want to get every dollar out of your build then going with minimum power supply requirements is fins as long as you are getting them from a reputable brand. I do not recommend going with a no name power supply when you are the max of your recommended level. If you are in need of 550 watts, I wouldn’t hesitate using this brand because the internal are high quality and would be able to handle that work load. As we all know Nvidia has released their new cards and they require a lot of power. At 550 watts we probably can safely assume that this particular power supply might not be sufficient but we will point out what cards you might be able to use this power supply with.
