HomeLan Fed has posted an interview with Futuremark's Nicklas Renqvist and Patric Ojala. They talk about what will be incorporated into the new benchmark, DirectX 9 features, the development process and more. Go and check it out to learn more about the most anticipated software release this year. Here is a small rip: HomeLAN - What other new features are you adding to 3DMark03? Nicklas Renqvist - Many. The one I personally like the most is the Pro ORB (OnlineResult Browser). The Pro ORB is only accessible with the 3DMark03 Professional Edition, and it really is the right arm of the benchmark! We have some amazing new online features for the Pro users, so upgrading to Pro doesn't only mean more features and tests inside the benchmark, it also means more online functionalities. HomeLAN - What is the current status of 3DMark03, when will it be release and what different versions will be available for both free and paid downloads? Nicklas Renqvist - The current status of 3DMark03 is that it is still in development. The exact release date is not yet announced, but it will be out in Q1 of 2003. I can't comment on what 3DMark03 Professional Edition has included, or what the free version lacks, but what I can say is that we emphasized on the Pro version a lot this year. The free version is only a fraction of what the benchmark is all about.
