File Lock PEA (Password Encrypting Archive) provides a portable encryption tool for encrypting data at the filesystem level.

With File Lock PEA, you have the option to either decrypt single files or whole directories temporarily. Your files and folders can be individually selected for decryption. You also have the option to save your files in the cloud and upload new versions using several cloud providers. All data remains encrypted during this process, and the encryption is authenticated to protect its integrity by an authenticated encryption mode.

File Lock PEA also includes metadata hiding. This feature allows file names, etc., to be made invisible by encrypting them in zip files. There is also a virtual keyboard to protect against keyloggers.

File Lock PEA does require Java Runtime Environment 8 or higher to function.

For use with Linux or Mac, see the author's site for instructions.
