FAA Releases New Drone List—Is Your Town on the Map? EFF

EFF has previously filed suit against Homeland Security looking for answers as to why, when and how The Department lends its drones to local law enforcement officials.
"Drones are a powerful surveillance tool that can be used to gather extensive data about you and your activities. The public needs to know more about how and why these Predator drones are being used to watch U.S. citizens."

In response to that suit, the FAA Federal Aviation Administration released a "drone authorization list" of 81 sites that includes Universities, Law Enforcement and other locations around the USA.

The list comes amid extensive controversy over a newly-released memo documenting the CIA’s policy on the targeted killing of American citizens and on the heels of news that Charlottesville, Virginia has just become one of the first cities in the country to ban drones. This new list should contribute to the debate over whether using domestic drones for surveillance is consistent with the Constitution and with American values.

Hmmm.... why don't I feel safer?
