It was discovered that Exempi incorrectly handled certain media files. If a user or automated system were tricked into opening a specially crafted file, a remote attacker could cause Exempi to hang or crash, resulting in a denial of service, or possibly execute arbitrary code. Updated packages are now available for Ubuntu Linux 14.04 LTS, 16.04 LTS, and 17.10
