ECS Ignoring Customer Whose Motherboards Caught On Fire?

Published by

Just spotted this bit of news at our good friends TweakTown:

We got an e-mail earlier on from a concerned buyer of ECS motherboards who has had problems with two ECS K7ECM motherboards (rev 1.0 15-A01-010100) catching fire over the past four weeks. Michel Castonguay, the buyer, contacted ECS USA RMA department about this issue and was given the following standard response which shows no regard to the fact that these motherboards apparently, caught on fire!

Dear indirect Canadian customer,

You have reached ECS-USA RMA Dept. We handle warranty service for our authorized distributors in the US only.

Please reference ECS RMA policy posted on our website:

http://www.ecsusa.com/rma/directcustomers.cfm

ECS manufacturer warranty is offered to direct customers with a valid ECS invoice only. Since our warranty is handled through the vendor channel, you need to contact your vendor for RMA. Your warranty is limited to the period offered by your vendor.

Since your warranty already expired with your vendor, you won't be able to get the replacement motherboards requested.

Thank you,

ECS-USA RMA Dept
