Eagle Mode is an advanced solution for a futuristic style of man-machine communication in which the user can visit almost everything simply by zooming in.
It has a professional file manager, file viewers, and players for most common file types, a chess game, a 3D mine game, a multi-function clock, and some fractal fun, all integrated into a virtual cosmos. Besides, that cosmos also provides a Linux kernel configuration in the form of a kernel patch.
Eagle Mode aims to be a cutting edge of zoomable user interfaces. This goal is done by featuring help texts in the things they describe, editable bookmarks, multiple input methods, fast anti-aliased graphics, virtually unlimited depth of panel tree, and its portable C++ API.
It is a zoomable user interface with many plugin applications, for example:
3d Zoomable file manager.
Games (Chess/3D Mine Sweeper)
Audio/Video player
Fractal generation.
C++ API
The API can be used to create both plugin applications and standalone applications. A plugin application could show in the virtual cosmos and the file manager, while a standalone application shows as its own window on the desktop.
The Windows port of Eagle Mode is just a light version. It has fewer plugins, fewer commands, and the commands can handle fewer files at once than the Linux versions.
