DXVK 2.5 released
Philip Rebohle has announced the release of version 2.5 of the DXVK DirectX to Vulkan translation layer, featuring improvements in memory management and driver support. Memory fragmentation has been refined to enhance the utilization of allocated video memory, incorporating periodic defragmentation to recover unused memory for the system. The revised memory management demonstrates optimal effectiveness on drivers that support both VK_EXT_memory_budget and VK_KHR_maintenance5. Integration of support for emulated cursors has been implemented in the D3D9 cursor API, allowing games to specify a custom image for the mouse cursor. Games developed with Unreal Engine 3 that utilize D3D9 have undergone optimization by removing unnecessary Vulkan samplers dynamically and implementing the correct LOD bias.
