Connected Standby (Formerly called InstantGo) is a feature in Windows 8, 8.1, and 10 that lets Windows devices with supported hardware to remain connected to the internet (or network) and receive updates and notifications for apps in the background while in low power consumption sleep state. In this tutorial, we show you how to enable or disable Connected Standby.
Some have discovered times where Connected Standby wasn't functioning correctly and causing problems, including draining the battery. Other issues include not having any Connected Standby supported apps. Finally, some people who are trying to restore power plans or add the Ultimate Performance plan have discovered that Connected Standby needed to be disabled first.

Extract the two files:
Disable Connected Standby.reg
Enable Connected Standby DEFAULT.reg
Double-click Disable Connected Standby.reg to disable Connected Standby.
Double-click Enable Connected Standby DEFAULT.reg to enable Connected Standby.
Click Yes when prompted by User Account Control.
Click Yes when prompted by Registry Editor.
Click OK when prompted by the Registry Editor.
