It is a straightforward shell application that will keep your icons and programs where you intend them to be. There are times when you reboot, change up your screen's resolution or use a particular app that results in your desktop being reordered into a seemingly random and unorganized gathering of your desktop items. If you have numerous things on the desktop placed in specific locations for use, this can be annoying as well as time-consuming to return them to their proper position. Desktop Restore will do it for you quickly and efficiently.

Once installed on your machine, Desktop Restore operates from the right-click context menu with all available options in view. There are a few settings that can be modified if desired like save/restore desktop commands, custom save/restore commands, etc. But the default setup worked fine during testing. All you need to do is position your icons, etc., in your preferred locations and then select save desktop. If they get shuffled to alternate locations, you can hit restore desktop, and they immediately return home. A simple and easy-to-use solution for a common and annoying issue.
