You start the game with $495, a jalopy, and optional weapons. The goal is to win races on various tracks and earn money to buy a better car and eventually face the boss one-on-one. Each car can be upgraded including tires, engine, and armor. The only thing missing is multiplayer as the cost would have been too much.

Gameplay is simple by using your arrow keys.

Impressively, the game was released for Android and iOS in 2001 and recouped the development costs in just a few days.

Back in the day when we were downloading on 14.4 modems or floppy disks, Death Rally was considered a great game, scoring an average of 6 out of 10 on numerous publications.
