DDR 333 Is Coming In November!

Nanya Technology on November 21 announced it officially began volume production of 333MHz DDR (double data rate) SDRAM memory this week, and by the end of the month it will ship 1.2 million 128Mbit-equivalent chips. Nanya claimed it is the first company in Taiwan to develop DDR333, which has already been tested and certified by Asustek Computer, Micro-Star International (MSI), Gigabyte Technology and Elitegroup Computer Systems (ECS). Nanya is offering DDR333 in 128 and 256Mbit capacities, as well as PC2700 DIMMs (dual in-line memory modules). Samsung began volume production of DDR333 on August 16. The company announced plans to increase DDR from 5% to 20% of its total production volume. Hynix Semiconductor and Micron Technology have sent their DDR333 for verification. Taiwan-based Powerchip Semiconductor (PSC) has sent its DDR333 to Thailin Semiconductor for testing and is aiming to start volume production at the end of 2001. Source: DigiTimes
