Every once in a while, it is important to take a hard look at things that really matter. Boutique items may be great to look at, but 99% of the time it isn't what you actually need nor what you are going to wind up coming home with. Sure, I?m interested in and intrigued by the Mercedes SLR McLaren, but walking into a Mercedes dealer, I am far more likely to be coming home with a C-Class. The rest of the car buying public is likely to do that, as well. How likely, you ask? More likely to the tune of approximately 7,000 to 1. So, in the grand scheme of things, the research done on the C-Class has far greater reaching benefits than that done on the SLR.

In technology, we see people drawn to the boutique items in exactly the same manner. But as Steam reports show, the majority of gamers are using mainstream cards that cost under $200. Thankfully, we have been seeing some good coverage of this price range. In cooling, we see a lot of coverage of the big enthusiast dual towers and AiO liquid coolers, but not as much on the budget friendly end. This is actually a bit of a problem in that the $25-35 aftermarket cooler is the biggest selling price point, yet there are significant differences in product, and the consumer needs information to make the right decision. With recent releases from top tier manufacturers into this price range we are going to be taking a bit of a harder look into the class.
