Crucial T705 Gen5 Solid State Drive Review
About a year ago we took a look at our first PCI-Express 5.0 or Gen5 solid state drive, the Crucial T700. At the time this was the fastest drive we've ever tested, but it still did not take full advantage of what Phison's E26 controller could do. We actually got a real preview of what this controller could do when Phison sent us their PS5026-E26 Max14um preview drive a couple of months ago. Now it is Crucial's turn with their new T705. This Gen5 drive makes use of Phison's PS5026-E26 controller teamed with 232-Layer Micron TLC NAND and a pretty modest passive heatsink. Crucial has really optimized this drive so it is rated for 14,500 MB/s read and 12,700 MB/s write!
