CrowdInspect is a host-based process that provides a centralized solution for monitoring all processes for potentially malicious activity.
You can actively view a process and see if any malware is communicating over the network through VirusTotal, Team Cymru’s Malware Hash Registry, and Web of Trust (WOT). This is not limited to only active network processes but also those not communicating over the network by simply unchecking TCP and UDP buttons.
While using CrowdInspect, you get a complete list of running processes and provide you with the following details: Process Name, Process ID, Connection type – TCP/ UDP, Full Path, Ports, IP addresses, and DNS. It also has a color-coded reputation indicator (red, yellow, green) for visually alerting you to a potential problem. Any process can be killed via the right-click context menu or by the top buttons, and then you can use your antivirus software of choice to remove it.
CrowdInspect will not remove any malware that may be identified - it is meant to be a detection tool.
