Today Viper Lair takes a look at Corsair's latest TWINX kit, which matches a pair of XMS4000 modules. 500MHz anyone?

To be able to run your ram 1:1 at 272FSB is simply amazing. When we pushed to 272, MemTest failed, but the system still ran. The TWINX didn't seem to like any timing adjustments at this speed though, as we could never stay stable once we got into Windows. New CPUs, graphic cards and some of the extremer cooling solutions (peltiers, watercooling) ask a lot of power from your power supply. Most people do not realize how important a good PSU is when they buy a new computer. Why spend +$100 on a PSU when you can get one together with a case for $50? Well a good quality PSU is one that provides stable power, cheap and generic PSUs sometimes provide unstable power, which jumps alot up and down, and that can make your computer system really unstable. A quality PSU like the Antec TrueControl 550 which we are looking at today however is supposed to deliver a stable stream of power! And this one does not delivers a small amount of power, it provides 550 Watt!
