CISPA is back in Congress.

CISPA, the much hated Cyber Intelligence and Protection Act is back before Congress. CISPA, which was shot down last year, seems to have reared its head again. The bills intent is to allow easier sharing of security data between business and Government, however flaws in the crafting of the legislation is feared to create more problems than it would solve by Libertarians.

“CISPA is deeply flawed. Under a broad cybersecurity umbrella, it permits companies to share user communications directly with the super secret NSA and permits the NSA to use that information for non-cybersecurity reasons. This risks turning the cybersecurity program into a back door intelligence surveillance program run by a military entity with little transparency or public accountability.”

This new version tried to address some of those concerns but still creates legal issues, little things like monitoring your communications without a warrant and compromising your private data.
