CCSIO Benchmark (Cold-cache Sequential I/O Benchmark) measures how fast your drives can read and write large files to and from a specified location.

CCSIO Benchmark is a portable executable, so no installation is required. It also provides your drive information including the File system, Volume, Device, Controller, and Operating System.

To get the benchmark started, all one has to do is choose the test location (C:\ by default) and optionally select from 34 seconds, 5 minutes, 10 minutes, or a custom time. While the scan is running, you can also view details via the graph, or raw data. When the test completes, you are shown your read and write speeds.

When the test has completed, you can optionally share your data in text file format to help them accurately predict an optimal I/O strategy.

CCSIO Benchmark is simple to use and might be able to help you determine if any drive tweaks you apply helped or hindered performance. We think it could also be useful for tweaking SSD drives and watching for health issues by noting performance drops.
