I'm sure many slashdot readers (those of us using Windows, of course) have AVG Free Edition installed on their machines. Couple that with Mozilla Thunderbird and you have a virus fighting duo. Only, the latest updates to AVG Free Edition seem to break the E-Mail scanner with Thunderbird, preventing passwords from validating correctly. On the bright side, if you can't receive any e-mails, you can't get infected by them! Hexus.net have more details.
