BigWop over @ HotHardware.com is building a new machine and check out his ATI Radeon 9700 Pro! He's using a ThermalTake Chrome Orb and tin-coated copper BGA ram-sinks to mod his card.
The stock cooler has been replaced by a ThermalTake Chrome Orb, with a perfect layer of Artic Silver 3 applied the VPU's core. I also added some tin-coated copper BGA ram-sinks to the memory. The ram-sinks are held in place by, you guessed it, some Artic Silver Thermal Epoxy. I haven't taken any temperature readings, but these mods were done more for aesthetic reasons anyway. Just in case you were wondering...YES, the card still works! :) I'll let you know how it overclocks when the system is done!
