On April 10th, we brought you the story that DivX Networks had released an updated media player version. Version 2.1 features advanced post-processing for Radeon hardware. As you might already have noticed the new function currently does not improve visual quality. Here is why: Well if you recall a press release that came out a couple of months ago, we announced a strategic development and marketing agreement with DivXNetworks and ATI. The new player they released is the result of that partnership. What it means is that users of ATI 9500/9700/9800 series cards can use the advanced pixel shader power of their VPU to make the video content they watch using the DivX Player look even better. This is based on our FULLSTREAM technology that basically de-blocks (gets rid of the blocks sometimes found in video content) the content. This player requires our upcoming CATALYST driver update (Version 3.3). This will be available by the end of this month. Thanks to Rage3D for sending this along.
