As the big brother to the P55, the LGA1366 socket X58 chipset has been lagging behind in terms of new features that have been implemented in the other chipsets, specifically USB 3.0 and SATA III 6Gb/s. As a result, ASUS has released the P6X58D-E, featuring USB 3.0 and SATA 6G, hence the "-E" suffix on the model name. The P6X58D-E appears to be an evolution of the vaunted ASUS P6T Deluxe, and probably more specifically the P6X58D, bringing a strong feature set at a price tag that won't drain your wallet. Let's take at a closer look at some of these new features and see if the P6X58D-E can successfully continue to evolve and improve the Intel LGA1366 platform.
