At this time there are really only two major competitors in the chipset battle for AMD64 motherboards. VIA and Nvidia, both offering the top performers in this area and we are seeing an increase in the amount of motherboards based around their offerings. Both have their advantages and disadvantages and it seems that these level out the playing field. The winners in this battle right now are the users who find motherboards full of features.
