Just spotted this over @ Digit-life.com! Now if all the rumours are right? AMD should have some happy times head with the Athlon 64 , Mobile Athlon 64 , Thorton and my fav the Opteron, which is out in April 03!
And now a surprise: according the same sources, AMD is to release a new processor core ? Thorton - with 256Kb L2 cache and 3000+/3200+ and higher ratings. Moreover, they suppose Thorton, having architecture, L2 cache and model numbering similar to Thoroughbred, will feature smaller size and energy consumption. A logical question arises: isn?t Thorton a junior brother of Barton with halved 256Kb SRAM L2 cache?
