Alternate Password Generator is a freeware solution to generate passwords and check them for security.

Type in a simple password or name and click generate to start generating a new password. You can optionally check your password against the dictionary or brute force.

Once a password is generated, additional options appear, including:

Length
Use uppercase
Use lowercase
Use numbers
Use special characters

The Options tab provides additional options and is worth a minute of your time.

Finally, you can save a password to a text file or copy it to the clipboard.
