Advanced Host Monitor is a network monitor program that can create a list of jobs and tests in advance on a set and forget basis.
Among the many checks it can do, it can monitor any TCP service, ping a host, retrieve an URL, check the available disk space, check the integrity of your files and web site, test your SQL servers, NT services, and much more.
It checks network servers at regular intervals and takes pre-defined actions if a device does not respond. It can provide a visual and sound warning, send an E-mail message to a mailbox, pager or mobile phone, execute external programs, restart NT services, reboot local or remote computers, etc.
Advanced Host Monitor can generate test result log files or reports and includes a Log Analyzer which can illustrate separate statistical information and show graphs for each tested host.
Advanced Host Monitor Features:
ICMP protocol for PING tests for servers, routers or other network components;
Connect to a service on a specific TCP port (for test Web/FTP/Mail/News server or any other which use TCP protocol);
HTTP (HTTPS, FTP, Gopher) requests, analyze result codes and page contents for specific URL (eventually via a proxy server, even with authentication);
Check free disk space for all your local and shared drives;
Check folder or file size;
Check that a file (or folder) exists, or does not exist;
Check integrity of files (using CRC, can check files on your web site as well as local files);
Compare two files or search string in file;
Check UNC path (check availability or check the amount of free space);
Test connection to your SQL server (support Interbase, MS SQL, MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, and Sybase servers);
Check processes;
Check services (only for Windows NT/2000);
Control local and remote NT Events Logs (only for Windows NT/2000);
Check CPU Usage (implemented for Windows NT/2000 & Novell Netware)
Test any devices which support SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol);
And custom checks (ones YOU write)
