OK, it is time to step up to the plate and take a wee swing at some of the "stuff" that is being said about 3DMark03 by variuos folks and various corporate entities! Before I get going though, let's be very clear as to where my comments are coming from. I am certainly NOT an "expert" in judging the efficiency of rendering techniques, hardware design or game code optimization. But, I can read and I can see one real problem with the critiques of 3DMark03. Not that the authors have made technical errors, as I just noted, I am not really in a position to argue on that front. As you will see, that does not matter in the end. That said, let me illustrate for you the many instances of people who are more "in-the-know" than most of us repeatedly making one massive mistake in their analysis of 3DMark03. And then, in the end, I will actually spit out the one place that even non-experts like you or I can see that FutureMark definitely dropped the ball with 03.
