When queried about a Linux version of their recently released Google Desktop Search, Google responded with the following:
As you know, Google Desktop Search isn't
currently available for Linux. Right now we're putting all of our energy
into making Desktop Search the best program we can. We realize that a lot
of our users would like us to offer a Linux version, however, and we may
consider this option in the future.

There are already open-source projects considering such an idea, but it would still be great to see what Google has to offer for the Linux operating system.
