I just love this site ... everything said is so very much true everybody should read and understand it especially the Security Myths - Spyware, Malware and Virus Security part getting viruses / malware by beeing online without firewall or AV is absolute BS I never got any malware of any kind without doing anything every malware I had on my system up to now was installed by myself ... know or not but never automatically

All you had to do is enable the XP Firewall before connecting to the Internet and it would have stopped it cold. With SP2 that is a moot point since it enables the firewall by default.

Except that most of these are not obvious, thus the reason for the guide.

If they were so obvious programs like CCleaner would not include myth based cleaning instructions and the legions of tweak sites with bad information would not exist. The prefetching, spyware and Hosts File myths are very well spread.
