So do you believe the PS3 should fail because Sony has a vested interest in Bluray?

Companies always said their product is better than anyone elses. Sometimes it was true, sometimes not. Sometimes the better product won, sometimes the worse. Just depends on how much PR a company does and how smart the consumers are. Cant really blame MS. They still suck, though. :P
