UT2003 Beta Patch Released

Is how it fixes the nasty "no-cd" virus that seemed to have mysteriously infected my copy of UT2k3. Before I applied the patch the game worked just spiffy without the CD in, after applying the patch I had to put in my CD to play. :( (No, putting a copy of the no-cd .exe in after patching doesn't work either...don't try and teach your grandpa how to skin cats! :p ) Just thought they'd mention something like that...

As I know - yes. I think I saw it in the UT2003 forum that the different versions will be backwards compatible (answer from an Epic programmer or something like that).

Chaos
In the UT2003 faq is one point about the copy protection: The copy protection can cause a crash back to the desktop (with no error message) - I think they fixed this with the patch (or tried to solve that problem). Normaly you must habe the game cd to run the game - other game for (possible) explanation: The Max Payne copy protection had an other problem which was fixed with a newer version of the copy protection (in a patch) - the game won't run with Pioneer DVD drives... ...maybe the UT2003 copy protection have (had) the same problem (or something similar). So the "old" no-cd patch can't work!
