"your MPEG3 files are halting in the middle of a song" It's not every day you get to read about MPEG3. Probably because it doesn't exist.

MPEG-3 was intended as an extension of MPEG-2 to cater for HDTV but was eventually merged into MPEG-2. MP3 is an abbreviation for MPEG 1 Layer 3. In this respect the author of the guide is wrong in both cases.
