hmmmm using 5mobos and talking about something like 40% isn't that useful .... it works well for my Abit AV8 so make it 2/6 .... and start counting

X-fi extrememusic is what I have. Used without problems with VIA KT880, KT890, Nforce 4 Sli and now Intel P965... The SPDIF output seems broken though since it's sounds distorted. I suppose this has to do with too high output.

I just got a new mobo over the weekend and the onboard sound was just as good as my X-Fi delivered so it's on a shelf in my closet. It seemed very sensitive to drivers while I used it. The drivers on the disk that came with the card where great, but the upgraded drivers were awful. Ditto when I tried to use it on Vista this summer. The sound was so bad that it caused me to unistall the OS and go back to XP. Anyway, it's one less card and fewer used resources with no discernable difference in sound so I guess I win.
