yeah indeed, they also state that it's easier to program with the new mathematics they use for it... plus the other benefits it brings... "living games" real-time aging effect, beneficial for modders as they can alter the textures just the way they want... It has alot more pro's than con's...

You seem to forget the storage in the memory. If things keep up as they are, soon every single item in a game will have its own texture (to look more realistic). That means graphic cards will need at least as much memory as the PC itself, if not more. We can already see that trend with the 8800. 768 MB anyone? Why not save resources where you can?
