PowerColor Radeon X1950 Pro AGP Review

Yes, but as they noted "Technically the AGP interface is dead, but obviously it´s still delivering solid performance in today´s games. While we did see a slight advantage in favor of the PCIe-based X1950 Pro card in our benchmarks, keep in mind that the PCIe card was running on a high-end nForce 590 motherboard with DDR2-800 memory. The AGP-based PowerColor X1950 Pro card was using NVIDIA´s older nForce3 chipset and relied on slower DDR400 RAM." It's possible that the advantage to the PCI-E card lies here...

I'd say your right, Bought one of the Saphire 512mb Versions and its fantastic . 3Dmark 05 @ 9147 3DMark 06 @ 4500ish. Not bad for what is a mainstream card. Also means I can keep my s939 based system for a while longer whilst I wait for the PC hardware world to settle into some kind of recognised standard. AMD64 3500+ @ 2.65Ghz, 2GB Corsair Twinx 3200@ 240FSB, K8N Neo2 Platinum mainboard. Id say if you looking for an upgrade even for a year, at £150 you cant go wrong. Worry about a full upgrade when DX10 and Games are here properly.
