Official nVidia ForceWare 52.16 WHQL for Windows 2000/XP
JemyM
I doubt he even OWNS a Nvidia board, so how on earth could he be right? Who are you using as a reference? And what have thoose links to do with the 52.16 driver?
neo-n
thing is at least with ATI youd have a chance with nvidias drivers some bits wouldnt be rendered at all !! lol
JemyM
You can SEE the difference?
JemyM
Im tired of the bullshit. Im posting a decent post about my experience with the 52.16 driver, and this idiot jumps on me like a rabid dog.
neo-n
Still no predator effect in halo, no triliner filtering full stop. Im really regretting having some of my PCs using FXs now... look for them on ebay soon if its not fixed.
neo-n
what do they have to do with it ? how about benchmark tests at nordic and IQ tests at elite.. You doubt hes right because you dont believe he has a nvidia card, well fine, but do you have both cards ? how about you look up his claim then. Its well documented by now. I have many cards including some FXs and 9800s. Overall they are fine but the IQ is noticably better on the 9800s. I dont care if you believe me or not, but before attacking how about checking ?? Halo is very popular in my gaming cafe, but because the FX doesnt render the predator effect im not buying FXs (to replace the GF4tis i have). Id like to because its an easier upgrade, but im forced to buy radeons.
neo-n
Yes and so can my customers, its a simple fact that they tend toward to radeon machines if they have a choice. To me its a simple fact that the radeons bring in more money, and because they are cheaper they make more financial sense for me to own. Until this year almost all my machines had nvidia cards in, now its about 40%, by the end of the year it will be 20 %. I will keep a few around for the games that work beter on the NV cards.
neo-n
Ok fair enough, it is boring now, but dont deny these issues exist, that makes you both wrong.
JemyM
Can you pinpoint me to the 52.16 IQ test you are refering to? About Halo... Halo have been a load of bugs since it was released on PC, both on FX and Radeon. Can you really honestly blame Nvidia for Bungiee's mistakes?
JemyM
I tested the drivers with Unreal 2, Doom 3 alpha, Half-Life 2 Alpha, Morrowind and a couple of other games. So far I have not seen any problems in framerate or image quality. I have seen some screenshots in the past about the IQ problems with 45.* but I cannot see any bluriness/pixelness with 52.16.
JemyM
I got my fx card right before the Pixel Shader news came along. When I took it, the V9950 (ASUS) topped all lists and got very good reviews. It still does. Before 52.14 I was thinking about swapping to ATI in the beginning of the next year, but now I do not feel that I will need to go that far. I like ASUS cards, and always done. I will probably grab an ASUS ATI card if things doesnt turn out different.

And what have you posted here that was worth reading? nothing. And what age do you act - a lot less than 13. NVidia owners are only interested in passing useful information about the new drivers here, but have to wade through pages of useless drivel from trolling retards who have no toys to play with. Get back to you homework fatboy fool.
Chernobyl
For Gods sake, please let this be the last post like this. Can we talk about the drivers and whats new/good please. Taaaaaa
Chernobyl
This driver is excellent on my Geforce 4 4200. Its the fastest overall driver yet and gives the best image quality I have seen on this card. 3DMark 2001 = 12,100 (XP 2700+) Dual screen suffers no performance hit in DirectX or OpenGL so I leave it in dual screen mode permanently. Overall, I am impressed.
Chernobyl
agreed, its excellent. Halo plays a treat too!
neo-n
No i can see any bluriness or pixeliness now either ,but there is something missing when compared to the 9800, sometimes a shader or two and usually the AA quality, my customers notice (most are typical gamer types!!).
neo-n
from what ive heard they dont allow triliner even if its set in the control panel, donr know why. Also there is somekind of automatic DX9 replacer in the driver that replaces PS2.0 with a lower PS versions. I dont think any of it affects the GF4 (obviously the DX9 bit doesnt).
neo-n
Im sure the EB test has one 52.16 IQ test, ill recheck though. Halo itself is a bit buggy but the preditor effect is not a bug, its disabled by nvidia for whatever reason (huge slowdown i believe). The IR thing with the radeon is a bug in the 3.8s, the 3.7s are fine.

Thanks for the tip Tekkanano. Will try that tommorrow.

Yeah I saw ForceWare and thought these were for the Nforce.. damn
