nVidia's analysis on ATI's X800 Launch
glenn
Dont forget how both companies Shaft us every six months. And how they fool most people into buying rebranded versions like Mx,Xt,Pe,Ultra,Pro,Se Etc. When oh When will Intel Knock Out both These Bums and create a good video Card?
Kaleid
Intel? Bah hahh hah. You might just as well have said Bitboys..
glenn
With intel's power they could wipe out both these bums out of the market.Think about it.
glenn
If you know anything about the graphics pie chart, sure nvidia got most of it,next would be ati,low and behold intel is in third.I know intel makes crappy cards. But if a company like intel was to make the bling bling of cards, those two bickering old hags would end up in an old age home a la 3dfx.

it woudl be good if you fully read te slides before flaming, and bear in mind that those ATI quotes are REAL they came up a few months back. however companies WILL bash each others products internally, it's how you keep up morale etc.

Chris Ray posted that up over at Beyond3D too, bless his heart. :) Meh, I think I should take Mike's hint and just avoid nVnews....methinks they dislike me. :(

Is it just me or is this presentation actually completely true?
Jaybo
Is it just me or are these slides completely true?
Jaybo
The thing is, all of that information is actually true. All of it.
Jaybo
Which part is crap? Every bit of it is completely true. Ask anyone.
digitalwanderer
Trust me, it's just you. ;)
Hyde
Well, this is just an Ati fanboy site, that's exactly the same actually...
Hyde
Don't worry Jaybo, there's nothing wrong with you, the slides are in fact right... But they aren't really subtle :)
Jaybo
Eh, which part isn't true?
Jaybo
How so? Which part is not true? I pay attention to such things since I preordered an x800 XT at CompUSA but I am tempted to cancel it.
Jaybo
They are talking about this launch, so yes the SM3 comment is correct, as is the driver bit with all of the recent articles about their filtering.
Jaybo
Yes, given the several articles out there on ATI's filtering, you know what they mean. ATI could not produce SM3 at this product launch so that also is true.
Jaybo
...because they will also have a better card to compete with the R500 at that time as well. I have to be careful what I say around here or be labeled biased, which I am not I assure you. I am not impressed with the X800 since it is just a speed bump which can't be denied. I have one on preorder but I keep questioning my decision since it offers nothing but performance gain and no new tech. Nvidia, as horrible as they may have been the last several products, has made a large leap forward by creating better AA, vast performance increases, no cheating, quieter cooling solution, new graphics features, and better OpenGL for the untold number of games coming soon using the Doom 3 engine.
