The million dollar question: Which games will ATI claim? Best Regards JemyM

I think nvidia is afraid of competition. They still HAVE the biggest part of the worldmarket!! They still are LEADER!! And they will still remain on the first position. Their product palette is the biggest. And now they can't be pushed from their position. There is Microsoft + Nividia, Electronic Arts + Nvidia, ... and so on. When I read things like this, I'm glad that in a few months, I don't have to worry about that. No, then when I have free time, I won't be sitting there playing on the pc. All day long I will work on pcs and servers. And when I'm back home, I don't want to start the computer to see that the new game I bought can't be played with my R9700. No, I won't start it, only if there's bad weather outside. And then I will render images in 3D, with 3dsmax or things like that. I will create small animated videos, and songs. And I will programm small applications, add-ons for ICQ or stuff like that. And there, the S3 Twister in my laptop is even enough.. Today, reading such news, I understand everyone, buying a gaming console. Ok, the graphics on the pc are better. And with the pc you can mod games (UT, Battlefield...). You have much more possibilities with the games. But you won't have any compatibility problems on a console! And you won't have to download the latest modified drivers which are the only ones capable to start the game. And so on.. Because today it's really annoying to see that the new hardware I bought can't be used the next month. I hate the word EXCLUSIVE if we are talking about computers!

I remember way back when UT first came out, I had a tnt ultra something or another and I could hardly play the game so I forked over the cash for a voodoo 3500 and the game ran great, about a year later 3dfx went out of business and I got a gforce2, even after multiple patches to the game it still didnt run as well as it did on the voodoo. Now I have a radeon 9700, UT runs good, I get faster frame rates and all but the game *still* does not run near as good as it did on the voodoo. I hope this is not the future of games to come with these "partnerships".

then they will loose the 50% market share that ATi has in North America and the 30% in europe... hardly... they still think about the $$$ primarily.

Microsoft Gamestudios have been aquiring lots of smaller developers, and due to their close cooperation with ati like the adottion of ATi's ps2.0 standarts into DX9 - ati would be an obvious parter for MS game studios.
