SP7 for NT4? i was under the impression that microsoft will no longer be making SP's for NT4.0 and that 6a was the last.

files are downloadable but are pwd protected... someone with a very fast machine should try to bruteforce the pwd

That SP7 for NT4 will ever be released is indeed HIGHLY unlikely... But the dir of course still serves a purpose: when somebody (a registered user of NT4, usually a company) has a problem with NT4 they CAN download the seperate fix to solve it. All SP7 would be is all those fixes combined (with nice installer, without password, open to public, etc.)

I'll explain this once for the people who don't understand. HOTFIX.MICROSOFT.COM is where MS stores hotfixes that may or may not be generally available as a download. These fixes may or may not have been fully tested and address very specific issues, not intended for the majority of users. Call MS support in your country, and explain which fix you need, for no cost they will e-mail you a link to the file and the password for the file. Passwords change every week, some files are only posted as someone requests it, which is why some directories are empty. Sigh. Relax.

why are peolple so excited over a service pack ? i cant work it out ....
