Visual Concepts Formerly an independent development studio working on titles such as early versions of EA's Madden NFL and Sega's Floigan Brothers, the company was picked up by SEGA following its success with the SEGA Sports 2K franchise. Visual Concepts was later restructured within the company to develop sports titles exclusively, and became the major development/producing arm on the ESPN Videogames brand and videogame franchise. After competing head-to-head with publishing giant Electronic Arts, SEGA withdrew from sports publishing after EA locked up the NFL and ESPN licenses in late 2004/early 2005. SEGA sold Visual Concepts and its Kush Games subsidiary to Take Two for $24 million in January 2005. *from Gamespy* I remember the PC game Joe Montana Football by SEGA. But I read somewhere the developer was MindSpan, Canadian developer famous for Hardball baseball series, published by Accolade.
