I agree with you 100%... I have the mx510 and the mx1000 and I play Q3 and UT2K4... Q3 is by far the fastest moving game when it comes to FPS and there is absolutely no difference in gameplay for me from the mx1000 or the mx510. I did have the razer but they are basically overpriced junk. If Im gonna pay that amount for a mouse it better have more then 2 damn buttons on it. As you said if you are a good player any mouse will fit your needs and I guess the ones that are not... well they need these so called 'gaming mice'. I prefer the mx1000 for the precision in gaming along with the amount of buttons and the ease of no cord to mess with.
