I don't see a problem with this kind of thing. Personally, a decent TFT monitor would be of more interest to me at the moment (19 or 20") which is not something Thompson does. But hey, nothing in life is perfect.

Refurbished and other used electronic products tend to go out right after the warranty runs out. happened to me 4 times before with a monitor, stereo deck, camera and a mini disc player. all from different high-profile-manufacturers. Some of those even went out before the warranty went poof, got repaired and broke again right after the warranty was over. NEVER again.
