Date posted for the download on microsoft is 9/21/2005. It may not be what you, I, or the rest of the world wants, (and for the most part neither is IE7, not nearly enough progress) but this is news.

hmmmm, though it is only applicable for PRE xp sp2 systems. read the blurb but tested it anyway, it won't install as xp2 systems IE is newer. I guess it's mainly been done for non XP systems, I don't see why they didn't do the usual MS thing and just say it's not for XP, force upgrade to XP2. Guess it will make some of those anti service pack people happy..

I understand the download page states the Date Published as 9/21/2005, but IE 6 SP 1 was released back in September 2002. I know, as that's when I added it to OS Updates (techspot.com/tweaks/updates). You've probably already installed this. Wonder what Microsoft's up to with this.
