i'd think that its "Ultrashadows" that makes the difference, something [H] didnt mention with a word. funny how ATi makes techs availible to others while nVidia patends culling of shadows and patends it so others cant use it.

The supershadow technique has a little to do with it... What really makes the difference is that DOOM3's engine enables the Geforce 6800's ability to use the 32x0 technique.

Do you actually realize that ATI cards were never that good in OpenGL games? Oh yeah jfyi, Doom3 is a OGL game. :P

looks like at HardOCP all they have are gf 6800 and they had hard time to find some oldie fx5950 which already "has been on the market for a while"

I had a GF4 Ti 4400 (8GB/s) & now i have a 9800Pro (>23GB/s @ 740Mhz), & i can say that the nvidia's openGL driver is much better. So, sorry guys, but openGL is nvidia's territory.
