Well u could also just copy the data folder from the CDROMs cd:setupdata copy the data folder from all 3 CDs into your game directory, now rename the data folder to doom3.... und hopla you got a working doom3 game, you dont even have to enter a cd-key until you wonna play online.

Perhaps Doom 2 is more appropiate for Windows 98 :D
