this game rocks, i finally got hold of Gothic 1, and am currently playing that. if you ever played Ultima 9, its kinda like that in alot of ways. very good games, worth the money too, something you wont beat in under 8hours (max payne2, CoD, etc)

i wish they'd hurry up with the addon for the english version. gothic 1 runs awesome on my rig, 1280x1024x32bpp, with 8x ansio, and 2x fsaa with gothic 2 i have to disable FSAA though:(

Gamespot did not play the first game before reviewing either. They whined about missing minimap features (there ARE a minimap in the game) and also they used beta screenshots to show the game. As far as I can tell, they probably dont like Piranha Soft or something. Anyone that actually played the game knows that Gothic is one of the best RPGs around, and the sequel is even better. A hallmark how rpg's should be made! I wish morrowind where more like Gothic. And yes, the graphics are great. Not like Unreal II, but at least on par with Morrowind.
