I don't understand this. I've run the identification utility and it says my current firmware is ER6OA46A It also says that update to ER6OA45A is required... but looks like mine is newer than that one... why do I have to put an older firmware (45A) if I've got a newer one (46A)??? I've never had any probs with this drive, I've had it for a year now. It's IC35L060AVER07-0. I've had a DTLA307015 before and it died producing the same noise as the sound on that site. :(

I've updated a lot of HDs (60GXP) using the update program ... I don't think that the apps are useless. just IMHO.
